John Kerry Continues Potentially Criminal Pro-Iran Talks

It would be an understatement to say that Obama Administration officials routinely engaged in lawlessness. From Hillary’s thumbing her nose at national security protocols to A.G. Loretta Lynch subverting the criminal prosecution process to Pres. Obama’s illegal DACA program, there was a total disregard for the rule of law for 8 years — and then some.

Former Secretary of State John Kerry appears to think his buddy Barrack is still in office, because his continued diplomacy efforts to save the horrible Iran Deal haven’t stopped. Whether Kerry desperately wants to salvage this last remaining — although horrible — legacy or has just gotten used to lawlessness, he could face jail time under the Logan Act.

Why the Logan Act Matters

The Logan Act was specifically enacted to deal with low-level and former government officials who meddle in negotiations between the president and foreign entities. As a former secretary of state, John Kerry should be fully aware that Iran talks would violate this law.

The initial legislation came out of tension between the United States and France in 1798. Pres. Adams was engaged in negotiations when Pennsylvania Democrat and Quaker Dr. George Logan attempted to start his own negotiation. Logan was acting to undermine the Federalists who controlled the U.S. House, Senate and White House. Sound familiar?

The law states: “Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.”

Two Americans have been charged, one in 1803 and another in 1852. However, this act more than 200-year-old remains in full force and effect, and was updated as recently as 1994. In 2007, then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi came under scrutiny for a perceived violation in connection with Syria. In 2015, former Pres. Obama cited a potential violation when 47 Republican senators communicated with Iran that any deal made without Congress would be subject to change once his presidency ended. Democrats went as far as to claim Gen. Michael Flynn violated the act by communicating with Russian counterparts as a member of President-elect Trump’s transition team in 2016.

In a recently released statement, Kerry appears to confirm that he actively engages in unlawful talks with the enemy state Iran.

“Secretary Kerry stays in touch with his former counterparts around the world just like every previous Secretary of State. Like America’s closest allies, he believes it is important that the nuclear agreement, which took the world years to negotiate, remain effective as countries focus on stability in the region,” Kerry’s official press release states.

Pres. Trump has repeatedly blasted Kerry about his “shadow diplomacy,” noting that the former secretary of state was one of the creators of this “MESS in the first place.”

According to recent reports, Kerry met on two occasions during the last few months with Iran’s Javad Zarif. It was Zarif who out-negotiated the Obama Administration to have sanctions lifted and get $150 billion in cash in exchange for “limiting” the terror-sponsoring Muslim nation’s nuclear program. Iran never had to stop developing nukes under the agreement.

Reports coming out of The Boston Globe in Kerry’s home state have emerged that Kerry “has been on an aggressive, yet stealthy mission, to preserve” the Iran fiasco by “using his deep lists of contacts gleaned during his time as the top U.S. diplomat to try to apply pressure on the Trump administration from the outside.” All indicators point to this Washington, D.C., elite breaking the law.

Just How Bad Was The Iran Deal?

The Iran deal has been dubbed a “historic blunder.” That’s because the rogue nation was asked to do very little in return for having stringent sanctions lifted and a booty in U.S. taxpayer dollars. It’s outrageous that Obama sent more than $150 billion in cold hard American cash to an enemy who proudly calls for the destruction of the United States, uses the money to fund terror organizations such as ISIS and is allowed to continue a “limited” nuclear program.

In the wake of the wrong-headed deal, America’s closest ally in the Middle East, Israel, has caught Iran cheating on the agreement. America’s ally provided a half-ton of documents outing Iran for working on a nuclear arsenal. Unfortunately, the nuke has become a political football and a host of so-called “experts” were gathered to claim fair play to keep the arrangement afloat.

Until Iran is sternly dealt with by the Trump Administration like North Korea, peace is a pipe dream that criminal liberals like John Kerry are smoking.
