The disgraced former first couple recently opened a 13-city speaking tour to an almost empty arena in Toronto, and still, Bill and Hillary have not taken the hint that everyday people just want them to go away.
Whether it was just more arrogance by the Clintons to book a stadium that seats nearly 20,000 or a total lack of self-reflection, Hillary reportedly suffered a coughing fit as she looked out at a venue with 83 percent of the seats empty. Whether the former First Lady, U.S. Senator, and Secretary of State had a flash of a sold-out 40,000-strong Trump Rally with another 10K unable to get in as she choked, sputtered and gasped remains to be seen.
Attracting a meager 3,300, including guests lists and giveaways, must have been utterly humiliating. But when you consider that tickets opened at $53 to $200 Canadian and the facility dropped prices as low as $6.55, the Cleveland Brown at 0-16 in 2017 in sub-freezing temperatures had more butts in seats. Unlike the Browns, Bill and Hillary cannot draft new talent and make a game of it going forward. Instead, they are left with a long and storied history of telling more fibs than Pinocchio on steroids.
In the U.S., citizens still wear T-shirts and chant the words “lock her up” when the subject of Hillary Clinton is broached. Her failure to send military support to Americans under siege at Benghazi will never be forgotten or forgiven. Americans died while Hillary slept. Making matters worse, she lacked the integrity to tell the truth, and her cronies trolled out weird lies about some viral video.
The pay-to-play schemes that made the Clintons wealthy are well known across the globe. So is Hillary’s traitorous move to sell weapons-grade uranium to Russians while Bill lined his pockets with our rival’s cash for speaking engagements. The roundly discredited couple still doesn’t seem to understand they are enemies of the state, not a favorite first couple.
From the pathetic excuses in her book, “What Happened,” to the pathetic attendance at their recent stop, they are a boring anachronism of political corruption. It’s like a roadside car crash that you look at momentarily and ask yourself, “how did that car get upside down like that?” The Clintons have it upside down. Someone, please call a tow truck and get this wreck off the road.
During the run-up to the mid-term elections, even Democrats asked the Clintons to kindly stay away. Getting hitched to their decades of debacles is now political suicide. In the #MeToo era, Hillary still defends her lecherous husband for the romp in the White House with Monica Lewinsky and denounces the scores of women who came forward over Bill’s sexual misconduct, even rape allegations.
The Clintons have become more synonymous with incarcerated pervert Anthony Weiner and accused mauler Harvey Weinstein than any policy that helped an American. While the Democratic Party remains mum or slinks away from alleged offenders within their rinks, wouldn’t it be nice if the Clintons followed suit? Bill, Hillary, kindly slink away.
Although the tour began its inevitable tanking in Canada, some in the fake news media avoided publishing crowd shots. Obviously, for CNN, it was for the opposite reason they don’t show Trump Rally images (after all the Americans arrive). Instead, the left-wing zealots reported on the anticlimactic shots the Clinton took at Pres. Donald J. Trump. The latest twist is that the U.S. president is somehow responsible for punishing those responsible for killing Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who is not an American by the way. Last year it was Russian collusion until we discovered Hillary’s campaign did the colluding.
It goes without saying the predictable Clintons worked in the words racist, bigot, xenophobic, homophobic but skipped over sexist with Bill sitting there in all. Who knows, maybe the sparse crowd needed a laugh. So few cared to show up that it could remain a mystery.
If anything useful or even remotely interesting came out of this inconsequential romp, it’s that journalism may not be entirely dead. The Toronto Star, where Ernest Hemingway made his bones, provided a clever headline which read: “Hillary and Bill Just Won’t Go Away.”
