Business Owner Stumps Bernie Sanders During CNN’s Tax Debate

This awkward exchange tells you everything you need to know about the left’s inherent contempt for business owners — small and large alike.

Recently, CNN continued to cash in on 2016’s debate ratings by bringing Senators Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders back in for another policy debate. This follows the same lawmakers sparring over healthcare policy on the network in February.

For those who have been following America’s debate on tax policy for any amount of time, the talking points presented were nothing new. Cruz, who represents Texas in the U.S. Senate, plainly pointed out that the Republican Party is ultimately committed to lowering taxes for all Americans, noting the approach has proven to be an effective stimulus for job creation in the past. Sanders, a self-described socialist representing Vermont in the upper chamber, contended the opposite.

After opening statements, CNN’s moderators took questions from the audience, allowing both participants to provide an answer. This situation became very awkward when Sanders came inches away from clashing with one of these individuals.

The audience member’s question was very clear — shouldn’t all Americans get a tax break? Sanders was a bit less than clear in his answer, and resorted to his typical class warfare tactics in the process.

“Do you really believe the wealthiest family in America should get a tax break of up to $50 billion, that the Koch brothers should get a tax break of $30 billion? You think that makes sense?” Sanders asked.

“I did say all Americans,” the audience member replied.

“Well, do you think the wealthy should not get tax breaks?”

“I did say all Americans.”

“Well, I happen not to believe that the Koch brothers need a tax break.”
