CNN Red-Faced: Network Fails To Muster 1M Viewers for Any Show

A March ratings report handed CNN perhaps the most humiliating defeat in cable news history. Not a single CNN primetime show managed to garner 1 million viewers. But what has CEO Jeff Zucker and the entire staff of liberals embarrassed beyond belief is that their hated rival at Fox News — Tucker Carlson — earned more viewers than all their top shows combined.

Given the news industry is hyper-competitive, let’s put that loss in perspective. In the NFL, that would be like going 0-16, and your division rival sweeps you en route to a Super Bowl title. In baseball, that might be the equivalent of the New York Yankees going into Fenway and having one slugger hit the cycle off the Red Sox’ ace pitcher — twice. For the network commonly associated with fake news, it’s a defeat from which no honor can be salvaged.

What adds further insult to injury is the rumblings that CNN operatives have played dirty tricks against Tucker Carlson by trying to browbeat advertisers into boycotting his time slot over his conservative views. Unfortunately for the anti-Trump propaganda wing of the Democratic Party, Tucker Carlson posted a remarkable 3.47 million average daily viewers.

These are CNN’s primetime show numbers:

  • Anderson Cooper — 810,000
  • Chris Cuomo — 875,000
  • Don Lemon — 789,000

That’s a grand total of 2.474 million combined. Not only did the unholy trio fail to meet the 1 million minimum threshold, but Tucker Carlson also beat them by more than 1 million overall. And think about this: if those are CNN’s best of the worst, it might take another show or two to pull even with Tucker Carlson alone. Liberal hack Wolf Blitzer hovers in the low 600,000 range.

Much of the recent decline appears to be driven by CNN’s constant schemes to mislead everyday Americans that they have the goods on President Donald Trump. They constantly implied indictments and impeachment is imminent. That farce went on for two years until the Mueller Report exonerated the president and his entire campaign team. The report left all the celebrity TV stars with mounds of egg on their face.

Consider that over the past two years, CNN has repeatedly trotted out the likes of disgraced ex-FBI Director James Comey and discredited ex-CIA Director John Brennan. The ex-spy chief was publicly humiliated when President Trump stripped him of his security clearance for unethical conduct. If that didn’t stain the fake news network enough, they ran the Stormy Daniels non-story 24-7 for weeks, and held hands with her recently arrested lawyer Michael Avenatti.

CNN lost the porn lawyer’s cellphone number after President Trump beat him in court, and the Feds slapped on the handcuffs. Go figure. It’s surprising Americans weren’t subjected to “Creepy” Joe Biden giving tips on how to covertly sniff women’s hair without their consent.

Although this recent viewership purge hurts, consistently ranking third in a field of three must make the demeaning ratings somewhat easier to swallow. It’s not as if they fell from on high. In February, CNN’s highest-rated show, Cuomo Prime Times, finished as the 23rd rated cable show. Yes, Tucker re-runs beat out CNN’s best primetime challenger. Yikes.

But it’s important to keep in mind that CNN’s ratings went over the cliff that particular week for a reason. The Mueller report drove Americans to a credible cable news resource. Basically, people stopped tuning into to CNN and MSNBC’s leading Rachel Maddow Show, and looked to Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity. Maddow had also been stringing folks along with the phony Russian collusion hoax. The liberal shenanigans all ended when the report broke.

While the more painful comparison seems to be between Tucker Carlson and all CNN challengers, he wasn’t even Fox News’ best show for the quarter. In reality, Hannity edged out Maddow overall in a cable news March Madness finale with her clinging to a lead in the 25-54 demographic.

If you really want to get salty about the fake news affair, Hannity trounced Anderson Cooper and Cuomo Prime for the entire quarter, combined. Of course, so did Fox News’ The Five and The Ingraham Angle. With the Mueller Report making its way to full public disclosure, the only hoax left is that cable viewers pay for CNN.
