CNN’s Coverage of Andy Ngo and Antifa Violence in Portland is Despicable

Following the brutal beating of journalist Andy Ngo by Antifa gang members, CNN was quick to respond. The only problem is that the media outlet most associated with fake news worked diligently to create propaganda that minimized the abhorrent violence by their masked liberal buddies. Despite the constant outcry by CNN celebrities that it’s wrong for President Donald Trump to call the fake news media, “The Enemy of the People,” the shoe fits.

During a recent Antifa street riot in Portland, Oregon, Ngo was blindsided by a punch from an Antifa gang member. Ngo works as a reporter and editor for the free expression news site called Quillette. Video footage of the assault proved that Ngo did not provoke the sucker punch attack in any way. After the first cheap shot, Ngo was swarmed by multiple Antifa thugs who kicked, pushed, and doused him with liquid. As is commonly the case with Antifa, they target impartial journalists and people that disagree with their ideas with violence.

Although the attack on the journalist made national headlines, CNN’s Brian Seltzer attempted to run cover for Antifa. He rushed through a panel discussion on the issue that totaled 47 seconds. Seltzer commonly decries President Trump “fake news” and “enemy of the people” statements. The CNN personality also ranks among the most vocal when — at least in his eyes — reporters are mistreated. Undermining his credibility in a fashion that even the least experienced news junky could see through, Seltzer went to commercial without ever showing the social media trending footage of Ngo being beaten in the street by black-clad criminals.

Instead of showing the graphic footage, Seltzer cut to post-violence images. By the end of Seltzer’s coverage, audiences were left with the impression that Ngo was only the subject of harsh words and someone throwing a milkshake. It was a stunning effort to support the left-wing domestic terror organization.

CNN continues to go out of its way to tout Antifa as a group of citizens who have run out of options to defend freedom, despite facts to the contrary. Consider the common statements CNN hosts make supporting Antifa:

  • Antifa is fighting for a “good cause.”
  • Antifa “is right.”
  • Antifa’s assaults are “equal morally.”
  • Antifa stands “on the side of right.”
  • Antifa violence is okay because “sometimes you can’t fight by praising them or being nice to them. You gotta fight fire with fire…”
  • CNN’s Chris Cuomo even likened Antifa to heroic America soldiers storming the beaches on D-Day in a Twitter post.

The truth, or facts as they say in journalism, is that Antifa repeatedly perpetuates violence against Americans, burns cars, and destroys property. These are violent criminals, not civil rights activists marching through the streets in peaceful protest. It’s not as if CNN has its collective coverage confused, the fake news network is purposefully creating false and misleading narratives.

“It’s interesting that the people who believe that throwing a milkshake in someone’s face shouldn’t be considered assault are often the same people who believe that ‘saying things’ should be,” comedian Ricky Gervais reportedly said in reference to the Ngo assault.

“I’m an old-fashioned liberal lefty, champagne socialist type of guy,” Gervais went on. “A pro-equality, opportunity-for-all, welfare state snowflake. But, if I ever defend freedom of speech on (Breitbart), I’m suddenly an alt-right Nazi. How did that happen?”

It happened when CNN and other left-leaning media outlets stopped providing everyday Americans with fact-based information to help them make informed decisions. That is primarily due to the liberal agenda proving it’s debilitating to the economy, causes increased joblessness, higher taxation, or leads to criminals having guns while law-abiding citizens are stripped of their Second Amendment right to bear arms. It’s a tough agenda to push with integrity and credible facts. So, the fake news media chooses to lie, mislead, and attack those who disagree.

Anyone who lies about important issues on a daily basis is no friend. When an international organization puts out false propaganda every day that supports violence, they are indeed the enemy of the people.
