Ivanka Trump Buys a Dog for her Daughter and the Left Freaks Out

President Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, recently bought a puppy for her daughter Arabella’s birthday — and left-wing activists lost it.

The reason? The dog happens to have white fur and blue eyes; therefore, Ivanka Trump must be racist. Naturally, there were plenty of Ivanka Trump’s social media followers who had nothing negative to say about the new pup, which appears to be a Pomsky. However, it was the enraged minority of far-left social media users who lashed out at Ivanka Trump who gained the most attention.

Allegations of racism were some of the most common negative social media comments left in regard to the new little dog. Some sarcastically stated that it was good that Ivanka bought a white dog, as racist President Donald Trump would never have approved of a brown or black one. Others said that the dog’s color would hopefully prevent it from being caged or mistreated.

One user even stated that the dog must come from an Aryan breeder, and asked if it could Sieg Heil yet. The comment is an odd one, given the fact that while many breeders certainly breed and sell Pomsky dogs, these pups can also be found with relative ease at local shelters and Ivanka Trump never mentioned where she got her daughter’s new dog from. It’s also worth noting that Ivanka Trump’s critics have either fail to realize or have conveniently forgotten the fact that former President Barack Obama got one of his dogs from a breeder, rather than an animal shelter.

Other comments were just plain insults. One social media user used the F word, and said that Ivanka Trump was “full of sh-t.” Another took the liberty of asking where the pup would go when Ivanka and Jared were thrown in jail, even though neither Ivanka Trump nor Jared Kushner have been charged with any sort of crime. Others made it a point to say that Ivanka Trump had no business posting festive images of her daughter’s birthday while migrant children in shelters on the U.S.-Mexico border are being held in terrible conditions.

While it is certainly true that these children do need help and assistance, the assertion that one should not post festive images of his or her family while others are suffering is an absurd one. After all, liberal families all over the country surely have no problem posting celebratory images with family and friends, even though others aren’t them aren’t as fortunate as they are. Furthermore, Arabella having a birthday celebration and getting a new pet puppy is not hurting anyone except a small yet vocal group of overly sensitive people who would be offended no matter what Jared and Ivanka did for their daughter’s birthday.

Mainstream news media outlets are losing the trust of the general public, and it’s not hard to see why. When reputable outlets such as Newsweek allow stories to be dominated by people who spew hate simply because a conservative couple bought a white puppy, they really have no business complaining that people don’t trust them or listen to them. The truth is that there are plenty of white pets in the world, and people who purchase a white dog (or cat, or rabbit, or some other pet) don’t do it to “send a message” to other people. Furthermore, while it’s nice to get a shelter dog, no-one is obligated to do so.
