Pelosi Backs Down From Impeachment Promises

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has backed down from her long-standing promise to impeach President Donald Trump, and her party members are furious.

The recent 180-degree spin on her 2016 campaign rhetoric should in no way be misconstrued as an act of bipartisanship or reconciliation. In reality, Speaker Pelosi recognizes two things — an impeachment attempt would fail, and she has been stripped of her power.

Once viewed among the most tenacious women in American politics, the California Congresswoman is nothing but a figurehead cowering behind big talk and empty rhetoric. Watching Pelosi try to squirm away from her bold promises is like slowing down to gawk at a car wreck.

“Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country,” Pelosi said. “I’m not for impeachment.”

Considering the fervor she whipped Democrats into in the run-up to the mid-term elections, news of her backing down stunned many within her party. In an effort to appear brazen in the face of surrender, Pelosi managed to lash out and spew insults at the president common to extremists in the Democratic Party.

“No, I don’t think he’s fit to be president of the United States,” Pelosi said, back-tracking. “I don’t think he is. I mean, ethically unfit. Intellectually unfit. Curiosity-wise unfit. And, he’s just not worth it.”

President Trump appears to be shrugging off Pelosi’s insults and taking the high road. He offered her a tongue-in-cheek thank you on Twitter.

“I greatly appreciate Nancy Pelosi’s statement against impeachment, but everyone must remember the minor fact that I never did anything wrong, the Economy and Unemployment are the best ever, Military and Vets are great — and many other successes,” Trump tweeted. “How do you impeach a man who is considered by many to be the President with the most successful first two years in history, especially when he has done nothing wrong, and impeachment is for ‘high crimes and misdemeanors?'”

As a career politician, Pelosi understands that the country would revolt over an unjust impeachment. The facts have emerged that deep state operatives at the FBI and DOJ conspired to undermine Pres. Trump with a false Russian Collusion narrative. Knowing that the Mueller investigation will not yield an impeachable offense, Pelosi is cutting her losses now. The alternative would be to feel the wrath of voters in the 2020 elections. But Pelosi no longer calls the shots, and a newly elected class of radicals are banding with never-Trumpers to attempt a coup.

The new power broker in the Democratic Party is freshman Rep. Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez (AOC). The New York novice has snatched the direction of the party away from the likes of Pelosi with her Green New Deal and socialist ideology. AOC has proposed changes that would include free salaries for people who don’t work, free healthcare, free college tuition and the end of all fossil fuels. Her radical vision has quickly made her the face of the party.

“Legally I don’t think it’s something that can ever be 100 percent off the table, but if that’s how she feels right now, I respect that,” AOC said of Pelosi’s position. “While (Pres. Trump’s) talking collusion, collusion, collusion I think, in oversight, we should be talking about taxes, taxes, taxes, and his bank account, bank account, his bank account. His financial statements, because that’s where I think, actually, some of the most troubling practices are with direct relevance to the American people under the scope of oversight.”

It seems as if AOC has taken charge of Democrats in Congress that include senior politicians such as House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerrold Nadler.

“We don’t have the facts yet, but we’re going to initiate proper investigations,” Nadler said. The fellow New Yorker seems unphased by Pelosi’s calling off impeachment. He continues to do the bidding of radicals such as AOC and the anti-semitic wing of the Democratic Party.

Although Speaker Pelosi has run up the white flag in surrender, other House Democrats are looking elsewhere for leadership. They fully intend to push for an impeachment vote as if we lived in a Third World country embroiled in a socialist coup.
