Trump Honors America in Front of Mount Rushmore — Leftist Heads Explode

President Donald Trump seemed to break every single new rule the radical left has thrown upon us when he hosted a gathering in front of Mount Rushmore to commemorate America’s Independence Day.

As the mainstream media noted, the public speech went ahead despite concerns over the coronavirus pandemic, as well as the intersectional left’s increasingly vocal objection to Mount Rushmore’s existence in the first place. In case you haven’t heard, the monument features the heads of two former slave-owning presidents, and was carved on land “stolen’ from the indigenous Lakota tribe. Of course, the Lakota had previously stolen this from other rival tribes — as was the practice across the continent long before European settlement.

The speech itself tore directly into the removal of statues commemorating historical American leaders, many of which hail from a time when slavery and other modern taboos were viewed quite differently. President Trump condemned the legacy of slavery as well as the modern attempt to erase American history based on modern political whims.

In a way, it really isn’t the speech itself that was so powerful. Really, the fact that the gathering took place at all is the real takeaway here. In the face of mounting political correctness and a culture that seeks to destroy anything that slightly deviates from a confined worldview, Americans gathered to celebrate their country’s history and promise. In doing so, they defied the Democratic Party, the mainstream media, and every other entity that has bent the knee to the radical left.

Ahead of the holiday weekend, there were the predictable calls to “cancel” the Fourth of July, with dissenters alleging that America’s independence is a monument to “white supremacy.” Thankfully, the majority of Americans reject this ridiculous premise. The American experiment of self-rule and self-reliance is still worth celebrating.

Here’s the DC Shorts with a few clips of President Trump’s remarks.
