Trump Jr. Hilariously ‘Fixes’ Nike’s Kaepernick Ad

Donald Trump Jr. just did one of the most clever things that anyone has done in quite a while. Rather than stew over a Nike ad that indirectly attacks his father and his views, he decided to have a little fun while making a clear statement.

Recently, Nike introduced an ad that features a close-up, dramatic black-and-white photograph of former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick. And the ad includes the words “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything. Just Do It.”

The ad, of course, is referring to Kaepernick’s controversial position that caused him to decide to kneel rather than stand during the singing or playing of the National Anthem that precedes each NFL game. Kaepernick would kneel as a statement of defiance. Many other NFL players copied him and started refusing to stand for the National Anthem. But many, including President Trump, completely disagreed with Kaepernick’s position and believed NFL players should stand out of respect for the National Anthem and our country, no matter what.

So, Nike introduced their ad that clearly spoke out in support of Kaepernick’s position, thus slamming the stance of Trump and others who disagree with Kaepernick’s views on the National Anthem.

Rather than getting bent out of shape, Donald Trump Jr. posted his own “ad” on Instagram. The style and format look almost exactly like the Nike ad. But there is one important change: The “new and improved” ad replaced the photo of Kaepernick with one of President Donald Trump. The revised ad has a close-up photo in dramatic black and white. And the new ad has the same wording that the Nike ad has.

Trump has indeed made many sacrifices while standing firm to his clearly stated beliefs. For example, he has been attacked and mocked at every turn, throughout his entire campaign for president and during the entire time since his inauguration. The attacks are at times completely inappropriate and highly offensive, and they continue on and on every day. Trump has also sacrificed from a monetary standpoint, in that he has foregone any salary as president. He doesn’t get paid a dime to do his job as president, and instead he donates his salary to various worthy causes. For example, he has donated a portion of his salary this year to causes that help military veterans.

The haters would say that Trump is already a multi-billionaire, so he can easily go without a salary and not suffer any consequences. It’s true that he doesn’t need the money, but still, no one is making him donate his salary. If he wanted to, he could collect the salary as previous presidents have. Really, he would be making more money if he decided to keep his day job.

Donald Trump Jr. got the last word toward Nike and Kaepernick while having a little fun. And we all sure need a little lightheartedness and laughter in today’s chaotic world. So thank you, Trump Jr., for the comic relief!
