More than 500 migrants recently attacked the U.S. Border Patrol to gain access into the United States illegally.
The massive assault on American law enforcement officials had reportedly been in the works for weeks. The display of criminal conspiracy within the so-called caravan perched outside the U.S. southern border is a clear demonstration of why Pres. Donald J. Trump was correct to send military support to repel the aggressive horde.
Despite the propaganda being pushed by fake news outlets that the 10,000-strong migrant caravans are comprised of kindly women and children seeking haven in the U.S., nothing could be further from the truth. The hordes are overwhelmingly populated by young men from Central America, and many have dangerous criminal histories.
According to reports, hundreds of violent offenders have embedded themselves in the caravans, and many criminals were among the more than 500 who attacked U.S. law enforcement officers in a single strike meant to overrun the border.
“(W)e cannot confirm the backgrounds and identities of all caravan members which possess a national security and public safety risk to our country. However, at this point, we have confirmed that there are over 600 convicted criminals traveling with the caravan flow. This includes individuals known to law enforcement for assault, battery, drug crimes, burglary, rape, child abuse and more. This is serious,” Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said. “Additionally, Mexico has already arrested 100 caravan members for criminal violations in Mexico.”
While a few Central Americans have legitimate asylum motivations for leaving their home country, the Mexican government already offered them refugee status long before reaching the American border. The thousands who have traveled the entire length of Mexico have declined work, housing, and legitimate support to re-establish family life. It has become abundantly clear that ignoring the gracious Mexican government’s offer would come with a criminal background check and immediate deportation.
Already, Mexican officials have arrested hundreds and are preparing to deport hundreds of offenders back to Central America. Deemed threats, America’s southern neighbor has determined many are unsuitable to remain among their community members.
“The violence we saw at the border was entirely predictable,” DHS spokeswoman Katie Waldman said. “This caravan, unlike previous caravans, had already entered Mexico violently and attacked border police in two other countries. I refuse to believe that anyone honestly maintains that attacking law enforcement with rocks and projectiles is acceptable. It is shocking that I have to explain this, but officers can be seriously or fatally injured in such attacks. Self-defense isn’t debatable for most law-abiding Americans.”
In a clear act of self-defense and defense of everyday American citizens, border agents were forced to repel the violent mob by firing tear gas and using rubber bullets. Despite the unlawful and aggressive actions by the primarily adult male caravan members, left-leaning media out continue to push a false narrative.
Univision anchor Jorge Ramos gave a live broadcast that staged joyful migrants making peace signs with their fingers as he stated the U.S. had an obligation to “absorb” the 10,000 illegal immigrants without following established immigration laws or procedures. However, the recent altercation at the border was déjà vu for some border patrol agents who endured a similar clash during the Obama Administration.
In 2013, a much smaller contingent attempted to overrun American law enforcement officers approximately one-quarter of a mile from the San Ysidro crossing of the Tijuana River. Illegal migrants closed in on a border agent who was forced to fire pepper spray pellets after they failed to yield.
According to news reports, the mob threw rocks and bottles at American officers until they were suppressed by what was considered an “intermediate use of force” at the time. Agents deployed tear gas to push back the aggressive thugs.
The Trump Administration has faced a rising tide of illegal immigration and an influx of criminals attempting to infiltrate the country due to so-called “sanctuary cities” and knowledge Democrats will work with judicial activist judges embedded by Obama in the 9th District Court to get favorable resist and obstruct injunctions. Pres. Trump has vowed to stop illegal immigration and the wave of violent offenders infiltrating American communities.
