Conservative Standup Comedy is BOOMING in 2019

Although it might seem like the world of comedy has been high-jacked by unfunny leftists, not all hope for comedy is lost.

There are some comedians who are courageous enough to step up to their mic as unapologetic conservatives. Fortunately for those few right-wing comedians, who might be considered one of the “deplorables” mockingly described by Hillary Clinton during the last election cycle, business is booming.

According to a recent Hollywood Reporter article, many conservative comedians are enjoying sold out crowds to their stand-up shows. It seems that although it might go against the picture Hollywood wants to paint, people are growing tired of the tedious late-night propaganda.

It makes sense. After all, the comedy arena is oversaturated with Trump bashing — it has just lost its zing. It’s understandable when one considers the fact that these gags have been going on for years now. People enjoying this content may not even be aware that they’re enjoying what is basically right-wing commentary. At the end of the day, they just want something new.

To best understand how left-wing the comedy industry is, just look at the material. For example, within the first 100 days of President Trump’s presidency, there were some 1,060 anti-Trump jokes made on late night shows. This was presumably an effort to play to the majority of their viewers. According to a survey by the Morning Consult and The Hollywood Reporter, some 54% of viewers who enjoy watching late-night talk shows are Democrats, with only 26% claiming to be Republicans. Of those who watch, 62% of Democrats said they enjoy when the hosts get political, while 62% of Republicans say they do not like it. Therefore, it’s obvious to see that the late-night talk show comedians are pandering for ratings. Thankfully, late night comics are not the only comedians practicing their art.

Inspired by Hillary Clinton’s bombshell 2016 comment, one conservative comedic troupe called “The Deplorables,” are currently enjoying sold out crowds. Some venues have banned the group from performing, which at the end of the day only adds to their credibility. Overall, they have been met with stupendous support. Individuals who formerly felt alienated by comedians due to their political beliefs are now overwhelmingly supporting “The Deplorables.”

The performing group includes several comedians such as The Jeff Dunham Show’s Brain Haner, “liberal Larry’s,” Steve McGrew, Terrence K. Williams, and Michael Loftus — a former writer for George Lopez.

“The Deplorables” comedy tour is not the only conservative comedy act beginning to make serious money. Fox Nation hosts and YouTube personalities Diamond and Silk (Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson) will begin a new tour on July 20th called Chit Cat Live. Another comedian, formally a Politically Incorrect writer, Evan Sayet, says his recent performances at Republican events have netted him more income than his traditional comedy club appearances. Former Ellen writer and Right to Life veteran Adam Yenser says that he enjoys nonpartisan crowds over those who only lean left politically. He adds that he the loves to entice the crowd with his conservative views.

Although the left-leaning comedians who rule late night seem to set the pace for the rest of the pack, they are far from the only successful comedians in the field. For example, Jeff Foxworthy, Dennis Miller, and Tim Allen have all been upfront about their conservative beliefs, and have still enjoyed immense success over their careers. They have a rich history of being blatantly transparent about their right-wing beliefs, and using their conservative views to create their own unique routines.

Although there is a history of successful conservative comedians, today’s generation seems more motivated to carve a new path. This means the over-saturation of political correctness that rules the entertainment industry is hopefully on its way out.
